LG747: A biosimilar erythropoietin

Blood cells flowing

Erythropoietin is a glycoprotein hormone that controls erythropoiesis, or red blood cell production. It is produced by the liver and kidney, and is the hormone that regulates the number of red cells in the body. Erythropoietin is used in treating anaemia resulting from chronic kidney disease, from the treatment of cancer (chemotherapy & radiation), and from other critical illnesses (heart failure).

Lentigen has developed LG747, a biosimilar Erythropoietin as a proof-of-concept study to validate its protein manufacturing platform. Lentigen has demonstrated very high levels of highly glycosylated Erythropoietin production from CHO cells.
