Lentigen has collaborated with Dharmacon/Thermo Fisher Scientific to develop a highly effective stable gene silencing tool for the research community. SMARTvector™ is the result of combining Dharmacon/Thermo Fisher Scientific's shRNA-specific design algorithm with Lentigen's proprietary high titer lentiviral vector and manufacturing process.

SMARTvector™ shRNA lentiviral ready-to-use particles offer long-term, targeted gene silencing research tools. These LV particles incorporate design innovations that enable effective DNA-mediated RNA interference, or RNAi. These genetic elements are integrated into a lentiviral delivery platform that achieves high titers for gene silencing across a broad range of cell types, including difficult-to-transfect cells.

shRNA is useful when long-term gene suppression is required, or when cells are resistant to other delivery methods. Prior to SMARTvector™, the use of shRNA was limited by the lack of design and processing methods that ensured reliable and reproducible gene silencing.
